How billing works: credits, expiry, refunds

Image 2.5 is an independent AI image workbench. This post explains the four mechanics that decide what you pay: credits, the plans, expiry, and refunds. Nothing here is buried in a terms page.

What one image costs

Every generation is priced in credits, and the price sits in the model menu before you run. There is no single number, because the upstream models do not charge one: an image runs from 4 credits on the lightest model to 84 on GPT-Image-2.5 Sunburst at 4K. GPT-Image-2.5 Flare, the default, is 12 credits at 1K and 22 at 4K. The menu names the model and its price per image, and the price follows the size you pick.

Every new account starts with 15 free credits, enough for one full Flare image, no card required.

Three ways to pay

You can subscribe monthly, subscribe yearly, or buy a pack once and never think about it again.

Monthly plans grant their credits every month:

• Starter, $11.99 for 500 credits
• Pro, $23.99 for 1,600 credits
• Premium, $59.99 for 4,000 credits

Yearly plans hand you all twelve months of credits in one grant, up front:

• Starter, $100.68 for 6,000 credits
• Pro, $143.88 for 19,200 credits
• Premium, $359.88 for 48,000 credits

One-time packs have no renewal and nothing to cancel:

• Sprint, $28.99 for 1,000 credits
• Creator, $38.99 for 2,000 credits
• Standard, $79.99 for 4,500 credits
• Pro Boost, $199.99 for 12,000 credits

On Flare at 1K (12 credits), the smallest pack is about 83 images and the largest about 1,000. On the lightest model in the menu those numbers roughly triple; on Sunburst at 4K they drop to about 11 and 142.

Credits expire, and here is exactly when

This is the part worth reading twice, because it is the part most tools leave for the fine print.

• Monthly plan credits last 30 days from each grant. They do not stack month to month.
• Yearly plan credits last a full year. Because the whole year arrives in one grant, unused credits genuinely carry from month to month.
• The Sprint pack lasts 60 days. The Creator, Standard, and Pro Boost packs last a full year.

We do not claim credits never expire, because they do. What we will not do is hide the date from you: the expiry is on the pricing page, on this page, and in your credit history.

When you spend credits, the ones expiring soonest are used first. That ordering is deliberate. It means a pack you paid for is not quietly burned while subscription credits sit and expire.

Failed runs refund themselves

If a generation fails or times out, its credits come back to your balance automatically. You should never pay for an image you did not get.

You will see the refund as its own line in your credit history, so you can check it rather than take our word for it. If you ever see a failure that did not refund, write to us and we will fix both the balance and the cause.

Refunds cover technical failures. They do not cover an image that generated successfully but is not what you hoped for, which is the same boundary every tool in this category draws.

A menu of models, each named

The workbench runs a menu of image models rather than one hidden backend. Each entry shows its full name, and its credit price per image. You pick per generation.

We name real models instead of saying "advanced AI" because the model and its quality setting are the whole story on what an image costs to make, and you deserve to know which one made yours.

Image 2.5 is our product name, not a model name. We are not affiliated with OpenAI, Google, or any model vendor.

What commercial use means here

Images you generate are yours to use in commercial work under our terms of service. We add no visible watermark or logo.

Two boundaries stay yours to manage: trademarks and real people's likenesses follow their own rules regardless of which tool made the image. Model providers may also embed invisible provenance metadata in their output, which is their choice and not something we add or remove.
